Tell me you want to play and I'll pick up to three of your fandoms. Then update your journal and answer the following questions:

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?

Jim Butcher

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place? Polgara_5 got me into this fandom. It’s her fault entirely. I was minding my own business, happy in my little BtVS, Stargate world, and along comes Pol with this interesting little ficlet starring some character I’ve never heard of and it piqued my interest. So I picked up the first five books and worked my way through them… I’ll eventually work my way through the rest as well.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on? I haven’t moved on yet, but I also haven’t finished it yet either. Not sure what that says about my attention span…

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc? I really haven’t read enough of the books to decide that and while I own the series on DVD I haven’t watched it… procrastination thy name is Ava.

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)? I actively read, but I do not discuss or write my own. I like to have a firm grasp of a fandom before I venture into it.

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom? If they like action and humor than yes. They should definitely check out this series.

Patricia Briggs

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place? I picked up Moon Called on a whim and was hooked. I liked the female protagonist and the world she was surrounded in. It was a change from the regular Urban Fantasy in that this character seems to embrace her heritage and not shy away from it when she’s presented with a chance to embrace it.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on? I’ll be sticking with the Mercy Thompson series, but I’m not as impressed with the Alpha and Omega series even though it takes place in the same ‘verse. I find the female in that series to be weak and not particularly interesting.

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc? River Marked  is by far my favorite. It’s the newest book and it really delves into who, or perhaps more precisely what, Mercy is and can be.

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)? I read and I’ve written a few ficlets. I’ll join in a discussion on the series, but I don’t participate in a community. I tend to shy away from fandom comminutes because of fandom-wank. I violently dislike fandom-wank.

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom? If they like a strong female lead and handle a smidgen of Mary Sue’ism then this series is well worth trying out. The universe is interesting and I find the take on fairy and Native American lore intriguing.

Nancy Drew

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place? The book ordering service in middle school offered a free book with every 5 book order and a Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Super Mystery was one of the free offers. I picked it up and really liked it and set about collecting the entire series. I still have it, but truth be told I preferred the Hardy Boys to Nancy Drew.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on? I moved on a long time ago from this fandom but I do still own the series.

3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc? Any book that had a mention of Frank and Nancy’s flirtation was and still is my favorite. I hated Ned Nickerson.

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)? I do not. I did write one ficlet for Copper once, but that was it.

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom? The new books are complete and utter tween crap. I would not recommend them, but the old ones are still fun on a lazy afternoon.

Nancy Drew! I used to love those books when I was a kid (thanks to a friend who loaned me one when I was in 4th grade or so). I'm sorry to hear that the newer books are so bad; it's a shame, really, because Nancy Drew was a good role model, once upon a time.

And, sure, I'll play! Though, it may be the weekend before I can get to it. My folks will be back in town this afternoon and I'll be spending time with them. That, and I've been migrainey and having insomnia off and on lately, so the brain is quite fried and I prefer to wait until I've got at least one functioning brain cell before attempting to really write coherently on anything, even a meme.

Yeah, I can tell I've not been able to sleep yet just because of the run-on sentences. :-p

Sorry it's taken me so long, but I finally managed to post this meme! I set aside the email notification of your reply and, of course, promptly forgot it was there until I went to clean out my email inbox. *blushes in embarrassment*

MORE MERCY THOMPSON LOVE! And I agree with you on Alpha and Omega. I don't know what it is about Anna, but she doesn't grab me the same way that Mercy does. But I adore Charles, so I think I'll keep reading them. Plus, those books tend to have bits from Bran's POV, which I also enjoy.

I'd like some fandoms, please!

I like Charles, but I think I like Brother Wolf better. :) Bran is of course one of my favorites.

I love Bran so much. I pretty much love everybody, except for Anna and Leah.

I actually like Leah more than Anna. Why the craziness of that one might ask: well there's reasons behind her actions and attitude. I couldn't imagine being in love with someone, basically against my will, when they only have tolerant feelings for me. After a few decades that connection would begin to destroy my sense of self and happiness too.

I did love my ficlet. I liked Ned but I didn't care when she flirted or dated other guys. However, I loved Frank with Nancy and vice versa. When the first super-mystery came out, I thought, 'Why have I never of thought of that? They're perfect!' (I had a lot of the 80's-90's series and I always wanted her clothes.)
